Last weekend saw both our senior teams victorious in Round 1 of the Summer Cup. Our Southern Men's Championship team absolutely dominated the Olympia Warriors at Empire Couriers Park, with Jasper Gardner, Charlie Howcroft and Aidan Taylor all scoring a goal a piece, and Fergus Bridge contributing a brace to secure a 5-0 win. Our Women's Super League team also managed a victory after a nail biting game, with Olympia scoring early in the game, and fresh recruit Aya Gibson levelled the score in the second half to see the game decided on penalties.
This weekend sees both our Women's and Men's teams at KGV in Glenorchy on Saturday the 19th, with our senior Women's team taking on last year's WSL title holders, Clarence Zebras. An early start shouldn't ruffle our Pirates' feathers, with the game kicking off at 10am. Later in the day, our Men's team will be taking on New Town Eagles at 4pm, hopefully bringing about the same energy that demolished the Warriors last round.
