Friday Night saw our Women’s Championship team take on South Hobart at Sherburd Park, which resulted in a 3-5 loss. Our Pirates had a shaky start but then found their sea-legs about 20 minutes into the game. An early goal by Alex Pulver hinted at the fighting spirit our side had ready to deploy. A brace by Leyla Sharman kept the game looking close, but unfortunately the opposition was too strong on the night.
Saturday saw our Men’s Championship team down Hobart United FC in a game that, despite seeing Toby Fleming open the scoring 14 minutes in, held most of the action off till the second half. Sam James’ brace, and additional goals by Declan Taylor and Ollie Maxwell saw our lads take the game 5-2. Earlier, our Men’s Reserves lost 2-4 despite goals by Harry Bruford and Aidan Taylor.
Sunday saw our WSL Pirates experience a disappointing result against the neighbouring Kingborough Lions. They now travel up to Launceston United on Saturday afternoon, hoping to display the good form that had been building in the later part of the season.
Check out game times for this weekend below, and best of luck to all our teams and players this weekend!
